The amount of education you have can broaden or limit your career options. Your educational attainment can effect:

• Whether you can find employment
• The types careers availible to you
• The chances of finding a job you enjoy
• How much money you earn

There is a very strong relationship between the level of education that a person attains and their chances of finding employment. Having a good education will help ensure that you get a job that you enjoy.

The amount of education you attain can also affect the amount of money that you can make. Nova Scotians with a certificate or diploma below the university bachelor level had a median income of $20,009, and 36% of those people did not earn any employment income.

Those with a university bachelor’s degree had a median income of $50,889. Nova Scotians with a certificate or degree beyond the bachelor level had a median income of $63,998.
